Jesus Walks on the Sea

Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat
and go before Him to the other side,
while He sent the multitudes away.
And when He had sent the multitudes away,
He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray.
Now when evening came, He was alone there.
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea,
tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.

Now in the fourth watch of the night
Jesus went to them,
walking on the sea.
And when the disciples saw Him
walking on the sea,
they were troubled, saying,
"It is a ghost!"
And they cried out for fear.

But immediately Jesus spoke to them,
saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."

And Peter answered Him and said,
"Lord, if it is You,
command me to come to You on the water."

So He said, "Come."
And when Peter had come down
out of the boat,
he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,
he was afraid;
and beginning to sink
he cried out, saying,
"Lord, save me!"

And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand
and caught him,
and said to him,
"O you of little faith,
why did you doubt?"
And when they got into the boat,
the wind ceased.

Then those who were in the boat
came and worshiped Him,
saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

For the sake of HuiXian and HuiLing (and Xavier, and whoever else that wasn't there), Jo shall be posting my sermon notes up here. (And also to practise some HTML and show that I do listen in sermons.) They are my notes though, and do take note I have my own way of putting things.

How can we experience the miracles of God?

01 - Be Available for teh Master
-> God will only let us experience miracles when we are available to do his will
02 - Be Attentive to the Word
-> hear and listen to God
03 - Act on the Prompting of the Holy Spirit
-> do what you feel that the Holy Spirit is telling you to do
-> pocrastination is your worst enemy!!
We must ask God for miracles to happen to us. (Jeremiah 33: 3)

The greatest miracle that happened was not the catch of fish, but the change in the lives of the fishermen (Simon Peter, James and John).

  1. Casual Friendship
  2. Social Friendship
    • know each other better without the pressure of a dating commitment or a possibility of misplaced expectations. (explore and find out)
  3. Steady
    • Courtship is the stage of preparation for marriage in which a couple order their lives one for another, in perfect subjection to the will of God.
    • only if you intend to marry that person within the next 3 years =P (Whaha OMG)
    • there must be boundaries (don't behave like you're gonna get married next month or something)
    • go "steady", not "attached". Avoid premature soul-ties
  4. Engagement
    • marriage is the only point of no return
